inaugural

Inaugural posts usually set the tone. Perhaps less so, this one. I am up and hiding from both sleep and med school secondary apps.

In defense, I had a bit of a weekend, and today is a Monday. Saturday was a wild and crazy trip to the Mid-Atlantic African Violet Society show, which was delightful. I brought along my friend R, R's mom, and R's aunt, plant nerds all. I think I'm invited to HH and pessach and hanukkah in perpetuity. They're cool, which is good, because if R's dead father is occasionally going ot appear in my dreams (I having never met the man in life), they'd better be cool.

Next day singing, which turned into lots of baby smiles, one interested kid, and a recently-hatched Monarch butterfly. Godspeed, dude. Make fast for Mexico.

What to expect here? Med school apps (and later, hopefully, med school), random life happenings, and the occasional double-dactyl.=:

Double-Dactyl

Long-short-short, long-short-short
   Dactyls in dimeter,
   Verse form with choriambs
   (Masculine rhyme):
One sentence (two stanzas)
   Hexasyllabically
   Challenges poets who
   Don't have the time.
